Update re: Government announcement

11 May 2020 (by admin)

An update following the Government Announcement last night

Dear Parents/Carers,
On Sunday evening, the Prime Minister, in his address to the nation, indicated that the government
believes it may be in a position to implement a phased re-opening of schools from 1st June. This phased
re-opening would start with pupils in Reception, Year One and Year Six. This is part of the government’s
conditional plan, which it says will remain under regular review.

Please be advised that all schools received this information at the same time as the nation. Following this
announcement, we are expecting to receive further guidance and clarification from the Department for
Education in the next few days, about what this will mean for our school.

We will notify you as soon as this guidance has been released and our arrangements and plans are
confirmed. This is so that we can keep pupils, staff and all our families safe by adopting a sensible, well planned approach to the measures announced.

It is important to stress that for the next three weeks at least, arrangements in school remain unchanged
School remains closed, providing care only for children of key workers and those identified under
vulnerable categories
. Home learning will continue for all other children and work will continue to be
provided via the ‘Learn at Home’ page on the school website and communication through class Dojo.

Thank you for your continued support during this challenging time for us all. Please stay safe.

Yours Sincerely,
Mrs P. Duynstee
Headteacher
