BLJS take part in Stand Up To Cancer campaign

Dear Parents and Carers, This Autumn, Boughton Leigh Junior School is taking part in Stand Up to Cancer. All monies raised will be channelled straight into developing game-changing cancer tests and treatments. So, how can you take part? On Wednesday 22nd November we would like the whole school to wear an item of orange clothing to school. Please note, this is not a non-uniform day. Instead, we would like all children to swap part of their uniform for an orange item of clothing. For example, wear an orange t-shirt, an orange skirt, an orange jumper or orange socks etc. We do recognise that orange is not a colour that everyone has in their wardrobe! Please do not go out and buy an orange item of clothing. If you are struggling for something for your child to wear, here are some other suggestions for how they can still take part: paint their nails orange, wear an orange wig, use orange hair spray to add a streak of orange to their hair, wear an orange hairband or bobble, wear an orange bag or pin an orange stand up to cancer badge/ribbon to their school shirt. We are asking for donations of £1 to take part and in return each child will receive a £1 off book voucher for WHSmith as a thank you for supporting Stand up to Cancer. We hope that everyone will join us to support the fight against cancer. To find out more about how your donation can help, visit www.standuptocancer.org.uk Many thanks in advance for your support. We look forward to our school embracing the colour orange on Wednesday 22nd November. Mrs Cox and Mrs Lindstrom
