Return to School September 2020
Dear parents and carers,
We hope that you have had a restful summer break during these rather strange times. Please find below key information that was sent just before the summer holidays.
Staggered start and finish times: All children will return to school on Thursday morning at the times shown on the table below. We have staggered the start and end of the day and each year group has their own entrance to access the school. We ask you to remember the social distancing rules. We also ask that parents/carers drop children off at their allocated gate and do not enter the school playgrounds – thank you.
Equipment: The children will need to bring in a coat, their lunchbox (if they have packed lunches) and a water bottle. Year 5 and 6 will also need to bring in a pencil case (Year 3 and 4 is optional,) which will remain in school – there will be NO sharing. Children do not need to bring in bags.
The children are expected to wear their normal school uniform except on their PE days when they can wear their PE kit. PE kit should be weather appropriate, and we suggest they wear joggers and sweatshirt over their shorts and t-shirt.
The P.E days are:
Tuesday Year 4 (from 8/9/20)
Wednesday Year 5 (from 9/9/20)
Thursday Year 3 (from 10/9/20)
Friday Year 6 (from 4/9/20)
Face coverings: Government advice is that children do not need to wear face coverings - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-implementing-protective-measures-in-education-and-childcare-settings/coronavirus-covid-19-implementing-protective-measures-in-education-and-childcare-settings#personal-protective-equipment-ppe-including-face-coverings-and-face-masks However, children can wear face coverings should parents wish them to – this is at parental discretion and all face masks must be washed daily or disposed of.
We know and understand that these are uncertain times and thank you for your continued support. Should you have any further questions please feel to contact the school. To ensure that our communications remain effective can you please make sure that your phone details are correct with the office and download our school app (available on the website).
We are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.
Yours Sincerely,
Year Heads: Miss Coulson Yr3; Mrs Sinclair & Mr Gaskell Yr4; Mrs Murataj Yr5; Mrs Lindstrom Yr6
